My alcoholism had gotten to the point where I was completely bankrupt mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I could barely talk, function, or even dial a phone number because my hands were shaking so badly. After getting my 3rd DWI, CPS had taken my two kids and placed them with my parents, but I still couldn’t stop drinking. I ended up in jail and as soon as I was let out, I got DWI number 4, and while in detox I agreed to go to Wellcome Manor.
At Wellcome Manor, therapy, combined with the other programming, gave me a foundation and framework to understand my alcoholism as a surface level issue I’d developed because of several core wounds. Once I started to see things in that light, it all changed. Today, I’m employed as a sales rep and I’m also using my PhD to teach communication courses at both MSUM and South Central College. I have full custody of both my kids back, and I’m actually expecting my third soon! Wellcome Manor gave me my life back
